| The Mastodon was the largest RR ferry barge at the time of its use, approximately 1910s to the mid 1930s, prior to the opening of the Huey P. Long Bridge in late 1935. The crossing went from Avondale to Harahan, about ten miles upriver from New Orleans. Photo date estimated. |
